Medical tourism, also known as health travel, medical travel, or global health care is in the recent time rapidly gaining popularity in Lithuania by tourists from Middle East, United States, Western Europe and elsewhere. All this is reasonably explained first of all by low prices: Lithuania is a real solution to the high cost of healthcare in other countries – it is 3 to 4 times cheaper. Secondly, we are proud of professional and qualified doctors that have been trained in Western Europe or United States. Thirdly, assured quality of the procedures and EU standardised health care centres.
Reviewer's comments on the document:
We found it very usefull information for all travellers.
All the rest will be arranged by “Visit Lithuania” and you can be sure you will be provided with: the best health care centres meeting the highest international standards;
professional, qualified and reliable foreign language speaking doctors and health care staff;
overall assistance and consultations concerning your pre- and past- health care procedures;
health insurance valid for Lithuania and your country of residence;
full assistance for comfortable travel arrangements, cosy accommodation as well as healthy and fresh food while your stay;
medical wellness and SPA procedures for past-treatment care and convalescence.
Patient satisfaction with health care services is considered an important factor of health care. Although research on patient satisfaction has become standard in Western Europe, in countries such as Lithuania the concept of patient satisfaction is still a relatively new one. We had wotkshops where had study aimed to investigate how the meeting of patients’ expectations is related to increased satisfaction with medical consultation.
