This site shows both the target groups in the Caritas Foundation programs for the elderly, and the objectives and tasks within this area.
Target groups refers to people aged over 60 years, which may be isolated after retirement, people with disabilities - primary target group - volunteers and professionals involved in elderly health care - secondary target group - and the elderly who require permanent health care.
The mission of this field of activity is to improve the lives of elderly assisted through a close involvement of professional teams. For each target group, organization Caritas has defined a work program. Caritas Satu Mare set up clubs for elderly who don`t have serious health problems for spending their free time. For elderly who need medical assistance, Caritas Satu Mare has established eight centers for home health care and social assistance at home, accredited by the Ministry of Health and Family. The amount of the services for home health care provided to policyholders, as recommended by specialist doctors, is reckon up by the County Health Insurance House of Satu Mare. Also for the elderly who need constant care, organization Caritas Satu Mare offers a specialized program.
The objectives of this field can include: preventing imbalances in the social life of the elderly, their reintegration into community life through awareness and exploitation of their own forces and improving the quality of life for elderly and disabled patients through complex services and individualized home health care, using efficiently the community resources.

This article is focusing on need to create special programs for different types of patients. Taking into consideration the needs of the patients is essential. The access of these health care services is free to those having a health insurance thus the community resources are used in a proactive way as the patients participate actively within the special programs they are included in.
