The article presents the Hospice Perspective Medical organization, which provides specialized palliative care services. The team consists of doctors, nurses, orderlies, a kinetic therapist, social worker, a psychologist, volunteers specialized in palliative care.
Services offered by this center include: health care, counseling, support groups, spiritual support, family trips.
For the Hospice Medical Perspective to take into consideration a patient, the patient must be diagnosed with an incurable disease with a prognosis of limited life, and he must accept the idea of a treatment-oriented to quality of life and not to cure the disease.
The medical team of the center maintains under control the pain and the symptoms of disease, based on a comprehensive plan of care. Medical services are offered to patients' homes. Emotional problems are intertwined with family problems caused by disease, and team members and trained volunteers provide counseling for specific needs of each patient.
The center has organized support groups for patients and offers them the opportunity to express their feelings, fears and concerns, thereby supporting each other.
This center provides to their patients complementary therapies that distract them by undertaking any activity that makes them feel comfortable and happy. The team also organizes picnics and trips to the mountains for both patients and their families.
Hospice Perspective Medicale organizes both palliative care courses in order to meet the need for palliative care knowledge and to enter into continuing medical education program for health professionals, courses for doctors, nursing courses, and conferences and symposia on various topics in palliative care.
