Description of the organization:

The CPD (counselling service for People with Difficulties) is an integrated pole dealing with disability, aiming at spreading a “culture of handicap”. It is particularly active in the elimination of the hindrances – physical and psychological – which often separates the disabled from the rest of the society. Constituted in 1988, CPD is a second level non-profit voluntary association. CPD gathers several associations, movements and voluntary groups among the more representative realities working in the social field - with a special attention to the physical disabilities– and support their missions. The aim is to join the efforts of various associations in order to tackle the many difficulties of the disabled. This include promoting a culture of solidarity through initiatives aimed at supporting disabled people with psycho-physical conditions of hardship and social disadvantaged people, as well as spreading information about laws and acts of social interest, regarding transports, architectural hindrances, shops, family law, legal medicine and welfare.
