“Paying attention to the patience instead of the disease”

Leidy Ramírez Legarda.
Language: English
Country: Spain
Typology: health care professionals
Text:
What most helped me the Heppy project is to learn to consider as health professionals, people who make decisions that greatly affect the lives of others and, our position, far from being arrogant, should be as close to the person that we are trying to help. To do this we must acquire an attitude of openness towards others, be open to everything that happens, show us receptive. It is very important that we pay attention to the moment that we share with the patient, we are aware of that experience; we live with full attention this time. That means that we are present, understanding this presence as the State of mindfulness that will allow us to bring us closer to the reality of that comes calling us aid and thus be able to be more effective in our decision-making and our healthcare professionals and caregivers.
