Text:
Working in a section of medical recovery, during the day I met approximately 15 people who need my attention and care. Thus, I once met a patient with a disease that limited her a lot, not being able to take care of herself alone. She was hospitalized for 2 weeks of therapy. After few days while we were discussing about her disease, the daily care needed, she told me that she had a son she had adopted without knowing he had a physical disability. “He is a gift from God” she used to say, “and I have to continue living in order to take care of him, no matter what”. A fascinating story about commitment, sacrifice and wisdom, about .. human beings.
