If I were sick

Text:
What frightens every patient is the fact that the pain of his illness may not be understood, that he may not be supported for what he says and expresses. Everybody tries to minimize in order to give comfort. This makes us angry and makes us feel alone to face the disease. Trying to understand the sick and letting him express his own thoughts supporting him is the beginning of treatment. Patients appreciate more available and welcoming to listen operators, to those good at "doing things". Helping a sick person means also helping him to accept his own illness and to think it over. Diseases do not ravage only the body!
